Bottles stay findable, and valuations still count every sale — this changes what you SEE, never the numbers. Changing the filters on a results page always wins over these.
When a bottle you watch comes up in a live auction, the site emails you — at whichever pace you choose. That is all an alert ever says: never what something sold for, and never a price change.
Now and then we send a short note — what has been added, what the market has been doing, and the odd thing we think is worth a look. Never more than we would want to receive ourselves, and never your details to anybody else. One tick turns it off for good.
This cannot be undone. Your collection, watchlist and settings go with it. If you are paying, your membership is cancelled at the same time and no further payments are taken.

From the auction houses' own published results — about thirty houses across the UK, Europe, the USA, Asia and Australia. Every sale row links to the house's own page for that lot, so you can always check the source. Nothing is estimated: a price here is a price somebody actually paid, or a published starting price, never a guess.
Hammer is the winning bid. Buyer paid is the hammer plus that house's own buyer's fee, and nothing else — no VAT, no delivery, no insurance. Where a house publishes the buyer-paid total itself, we show theirs. Where it doesn't, we work it out using the fee that house charged on the day the lot sold, so a lot from 2015 is costed at 2015's rate rather than today's. The hammer price is always exactly the figure the house published.
Every night the site works its way round the houses, sorts the new lots into their bottles, and rebuilds the copy it reads from. It is finished by about half past seven in the morning, UK time, so a sale that closed yesterday is normally here by breakfast. A small number of sales cannot be collected automatically and are gathered by hand, roughly once a month.
A bottle is built from the facts the houses publish: the distillery and name, the age, the strength, the bottle size, the bottler, the year bottled, a cask number where there is one, and whether it is a miniature. Two lots that agree on all of that are the same bottle and share one page and one price history. Where a house publishes a fact we use theirs; where it doesn't, we read it from the wording of the lot. Sets and multi-bottle lots are kept out of a single bottle's price history, so one figure never quietly stands for six bottles.
Please tell us. There is a small flag button in the corner of every page: it opens a box where you can report a problem or make a suggestion, and the page you were on comes along with it so we can find what you were looking at. Grouping four and a half million lots into bottles is not perfect, and a report from someone who knows the bottle is the fastest way it gets fixed. You can also reach us through Contact Us & Support.
Yes — whole casks appear alongside bottles wherever the houses sell them, and one tick box hides them, or shows only them, whenever you want. Casks are never treated as a paid extra; every account sees them.
Yes, and it is the same on every plan — what changes with the plan is how many years of results you can see. Type a number and it means that exact number — “Glen Grant 45” finds 45 year olds and exact 45% strengths, never 45.7%. Filter by auction house, location, date range, lowest and highest price and VAT status, and hide miniatures, casks or unsold lots with one click — or show only those. The search reads the auction houses' own wording, so anything they printed is findable. One thing worth knowing: an empty search box shows roughly the last six months so the page stays quick — older results come back the moment you type a word, or search a date range, or open a bottle's own page.
Lots still taking bids right now, across the houses that run them. Subscribers see them gathered above the past results with each lot's end date and a link straight to the house — never a price, because a bid is not a result until the sale closes.
Choose your currency in your display settings — it is free on every plan, and there are ten to pick from. A past sale is then shown in your currency at the rate on the day the auction ended, so a 2022 result in euros compares fairly with a 2022 result in pounds, and it wears a small marker you can tap to see the original figure the house published. Two sensible exceptions: what a bottle is worth today converts at today's rate, and what you paid converts at the rate on the date you bought it. Sorting by price is still done in pounds, deliberately, so the order does not jump about as rates move.

It's built only from achieved auction results — the document itself says no figure in it is a guess, and that stays true. A bottle is worth what a buyer pays on the day, so it is a considered view of the market rather than a formal appraisal, and it says so. If you've recorded what you paid for a bottle we hold no auction history for, that total is shown separately and clearly, never blended into the evidenced figure. The valuation report, and the spreadsheet exports of your collection and watchlist, are Pro features.
A dated, printable report on one bottle or on one auction house's month, built entirely from the sales we hold: the typical price, how it has moved month on month and year on year, its record price, how often it sells rather than goes unsold, a two-year chart, and where in the market it sells best. Every sentence in it is written from those computed figures — nothing in a report is a guess or an opinion. Reports are a Pro Max feature.
One at a time on most plans — signing in somewhere new signs the old device out, and it tells you so. Pro Max registers up to four set devices that all stay signed in; a fifth sign-in asks which of the four to replace.
No — accounts are personal, and the one-device rule is what enforces it. Pro Max's four devices are for one person's own phone, laptop and so on.
While the site is young we record how people move around it, so we can watch back where somebody got stuck and fix it. That includes what is typed into the boxes on the page — never passwords, which are blanked everywhere. It is set out plainly on the privacy page, and it is worth a minute of your time.

Changing plan or cancelling takes you to Stripe, who handle the card — they show you exactly what you will pay, and when, before you confirm. DramX is a record of the whisky secondary market: what bottles actually sell for when they come up at auction.
Every figure on the site is a real result published by the auction house that sold the bottle. Nothing is an estimate, a valuation, an asking price or a shop's retail price. Where a house publishes both, DramX carries the hammer price and what the buyer actually paid once that house's fees are added.
Lots are gathered into the bottle they are actually of, so one bottle has one page however differently each house spelled its name.
We hold results from 30 auction houses, the earliest from 2004, and the copy the site reads is rebuilt every night. Every sale listed on a bottle’s page links back to the auction house’s own page for that lot, so any figure here can be checked against the house that published it.

This site is a record of publicly published auction results, gathered from around thirty auction houses, with tools to search the data and keep track of bottles you own or follow.
Every figure shown is based on published auction data: a hammer price, the amount payable by the successful bidder, or a published starting price. Nothing on this site is an estimate, a formal valuation, or an offer to buy or sell anything.
We take each auction house's own published results and, wherever possible, every result links back to the house's page for that lot so you can check the source yourself.
Hammer price means the winning bid. Buyer paid means the total amount payable by the successful bidder based on the fees and charges published by that auction house.
Auction information is not always published consistently, so mistakes or omissions can occasionally happen. If you spot something that looks wrong, please tell us and we will check it against the original source.
We work hard to keep the site accurate, useful and reliable, but we cannot guarantee that every figure, bottle detail, link or classification will always be complete or correct.
The site may also occasionally be unavailable or parts of it may change as we improve the service.

Browsing without a search term may also be limited to more recent sales. Older results remain available through searches and individual bottle pages.
These limits are intended to sit well above normal use. Reaching one does not mean you have done anything wrong; you may simply need to wait a short while before continuing.
You must not scrape, crawl, copy in bulk or use bots, scripts or other automated tools to collect data from the site without authorised access from us.
Automated access is controlled by us and may have separate limits or terms.
If someone deliberately tries to bypass our fair-use limits or technical protections, we may restrict or suspend access.

Accounts are personal and should not be shared.
Most plans allow one signed-in device at a time, so signing in somewhere new may sign the previous device out. Pro Max allows up to four registered devices.
Please keep your login details secure and let us know if you think somebody else has gained access to your account.
You can delete your account at any time. Deleting your account will also remove the information and saved data associated with it, except where we are legally required or permitted to keep something.
We hope we never need to, but we may restrict, suspend or close an account where there is serious or repeated misuse of the site.
This might include account sharing, fraudulent activity, unauthorised automated access, deliberate attempts to bypass usage limits, or non-payment of a subscription.
Where reasonable, we will try to give you notice or an opportunity to resolve the issue first.
The DramX name, branding, website design, software, database structure, bottle profiles, classifications and original content belong to us or are used by us with permission.
Auction results and other third-party material remain the property of their respective owners where applicable.
Normal personal use of the site is of course fine, but these terms do not give you ownership of our software, database or original content.
The site contains links to auction houses and other websites so that you can check original information for yourself.
Those websites are run independently from us, so we are not responsible for their availability, content, terms or security.
A link from DramX does not mean that we endorse or are connected with that website unless we specifically say otherwise.
Paid plans are charged at the price shown when you subscribe.
Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions run month to month and continue until cancelled. You can cancel at any time.
We may change subscription prices from time to time. If the price of your existing subscription increases, we will give you reasonable advance notice before the new price takes effect, and you can cancel before the increase applies.
We may also update the features, allowances or limits included with different plans. If we make a significant change to a paid plan, we will give reasonable notice.
The current features, allowances and limits for each plan are shown on the relevant membership or pricing page.
We may update these terms from time to time as the site, our services or legal requirements change.
The latest version will always be published on this page together with the date it was last updated.
If we make a significant change that affects your rights or use of the service, we will take reasonable steps to bring it to your attention.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

We only collect the information we need to run DramX, keep accounts working, improve the site and fix problems.

If you create an account, we keep your email address, your password in securely hashed form, your name if you choose to provide one, your membership plan and your account settings.
If you use your collection or watchlist, we also keep the bottles you add and any information you choose to save alongside them, such as what you paid, when you bought them or your own notes.
Like most websites, our systems may also process basic technical information such as your IP address, browser or device type, pages requested and the time of a request. This helps us keep the site secure, understand technical problems and make sure the service is working properly.
